Uniform and Equipment

Uniform Expectations

It is essential that we ensure that all students adhere to the uniform standards set by Archbishop Sentamu Academy. We would like to remind parents/carers of our uniform standards prior to you purchasing uniform. Below is an outline of the uniform expectations at Archbishop Sentamu Academy:

– Blue academy blazer (including school logo).
– Year group specific tie.

The above must be purchased from Steady School Wear.

– Plain black socks – no trainer socks are permitted.
– Plain white collared shirt.
– Plain black trousers – skinny trousers, leggings and skirts are not permitted.

The above items can be purchased from a range of retailers, including, but not limited to Steady School Wear.

Shoes

All students should wear a pair of black, formal shoes. Please be aware that some shoes sold in the ‘Schoolwear’ section of shops may not meet the uniform requirements of this academy.

Archbishop Sentamu Academy does not permit students to wear trainers of any type (with the exception of during PE lessons), sand shoes, boots or ‘Converse’ style shoes. Any student found to be wearing shoes that do not meet our uniform requirements will be sanctioned appropriately. The academy will have a stock of ‘pre-loved’ uniform, including shoes that can be borrowed on a short-term basis, if required.

Prohibited Items

The following accessories are not permitted within the academy:
– Facial piercings – including nose studs.
– False nails and brightly coloured nails.
– False eye-lashes.
– Excessive make-up.

New for 2023/24

Please note that Year 11 students no longer require a black blazer and should continue to wear the blue academy blazer that they have worn in previous years. The blue summer shirt is no longer a part of our uniform guidelines and should not be worn. If you have any questions about the uniform requirements outlined above, please contact your child’s pastoral team in the first instance.

Our uniform providers are called Steady School Wear. School uniform, excluding footwear, must be purchased from this supplier (unless otherwise stated) who can be contacted by the following details:
