Chaplaincy at Archbishop Sentamu Academy is led by our full-time Chaplain Revd Canon Anne Richards. As a qualified Trauma Practitioner, the work of chaplaincy offers one off and long term pastoral care, with a particular focus on bereavement.
Sometimes working with a team of visitors from the local Christian community, regular activities which build community and explore Christianity, leadership of Collective Worship, and spiritual care all come under the umbrella of chaplaincy.
Through chaplaincy the development of the Christian values of Respect, Community, Courage and Wisdom, are explored in Prayer Spaces in the Chapel.
Chaplaincy also provides a focus for staff through with ‘Thought for the Week’
Revd Anne is able to listen to staff and parents in a confidential capacity.
The academy chapel and chaplaincy office provides a focus for this work and a space for staff and students to pray, think, reflect and talk, as well as offering a space for lunchtime activities.
