2021 to 2022 Tuition fund summary Disadvantage Block 1 and 2 – Total 2021 to 2022 Instances attracting funding 257.64
2021 to 2022 16-19 Tuition Funding £25,764
The purpose of this statement is to set out how Archbishop Sentamu Academy will use its 16 to 19 tuition fund allocation to support students who have been academically disadvantaged due to coronavirus (COVID-19).
How Archbishop Sentamu Academy will use the 16 to 19 tuition fund
We will appoint two intervention tutors (£12 300 each per annum plus on-costs). They will provide small group tuition for students aged 16 to 19 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 or above in English and/or maths. Students captured in the “Economic Disadvantage” category will receive regular 1:1 Academic Reviews, designed to support them in catching up with their studies and overcoming the barriers to learning.
Students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those for whom English is an additional language (EAL) will also be supported by this provision.
Students with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) will also be supported by this provision.
Allocation of support
We allocated support to all students who met the criteria of not having achieved at least a grade 4 in English and/or maths and students captured in the “Economic Disadvantage” category on an equal basis.
We then applied additional support above this to SEND/EHCP students and EAL students.
Tuition groups will comprise of no more than 5 students and Academic Reviews will be regular and on a 1:1 basis. The tuition sessions and the Academic reviews will be scheduled in addition to the planned programme of study hours already timetabled for the academic year 2021/22.
Tuition and Academic Review support will be delivered by two Graduate Tutors, who will focus their support on GCSE maths and/or English exam re-sit preparation for the Summer 2022 series, based on personalised targets set by the class teachers; they will also liaise with 6th From teachers and tutors when conducting the Academic Reviews.
Our commitment
Archbishop Sentamu Academy is committed to ensuring the tuition fund is used in accordance with the Government’s guidance on the 16 to 19 tuition fund by:
