Vision and Values
Vision: To lead the best life possible

Our distinctively Christian vision is that everyone will be able to lead the best life possible, now and in the future. It’s underpinned by the words of Jesus in John 10:10 which says, “I have come that you may have life in all its fullness.”

This promise of life in all its fullness is lived out through our academy values of:

  • Respect
  • Courage
  • Community
  • Wisdom

As an academy, we commit ourselves to inspiring our students, and equipping them with the resilience and determination to unlock their unique gifts and realise their highest aspirations.

Following our consultation with staff, students and parents about our Church School vision, we are delighted to share our new academy values below:

Strong and positive relationships, where all are included and valued, and can discover their unique worth.

The Golden Rule – Matthew 7:12 “Treat others as you wish to be treated”

Positive relationships, within and beyond the academy. Serving others, in the classroom and beyond, is second nature. Our academy community is committed to serving the local and global community through learning, advocacy, charity and broader engagement.

Luke 10:27 – “Love your neighbour as you love yourself”

Where everyone can build perseverance and resilience in a culture where confidence can grow and mistakes become part of the learning process.

Luke 15:32 – “He was lost but now has been found”

We want our academy to be a place where thoughtfulness, reflection and acquisition of knowledge is expected of everyone, regardless of their starting point.

Matthew 7:24 – “Build your house on solid rock”

Our Mission

Through Christian principles, we aim to offer an education that transforms lives and communities. Everyone in our academy community deserves to be cared for unconditionally and valued equally as a unique creation, made in the image of God.

In our learning, in our work, in our relationships and in the ways in which we organise our community we are committed to valuing:

  • The work and person of Jesus Christ, his example and his teaching;
  • The equality of every young person in our academy, as being created in the image of God;
  • Good relationships, based on mutual respect, trust, forgiveness and a fresh start every day;
  • The importance of accepting the responsibility to make good choices, irrespective of the circumstances we may face;
  • The contribution made by families, community groups and others to the well-being, education and nurture of our students and;
  • The pursuit of excellence in every area of our lives, so that we can all reach our full potential.
  • Although a Church of England Academy, ASA is open to students of all faiths or none.

Our mission, lived out day by day, is underpinned by our core Christian values of:

  • Respect
  • Community
  • Courage
  • Wisdom
